Virtual Goodbye

Wednesday June10, 2020

Here it is the last day of 2020. Never in my wildest imagination did I ever think we would have a school year like this one, but we made it through with God’s blessings. Together we had many firsts both sad and happy. We did it TOGETHER! I want to thank all of you. We all tried our best. I would always tell the children as long as you try your best that’s all you can do.

It’s been my pleasure being your child’s 2nd Grade teacher.

On another note. There are many things that you can do with your child over the summer: finish the capital letters in the penmanship book and practice writing in cursive, you have the math workbook- they can do the section on multiplication (I would have sent home anyway), section on fractions and measurements. Even if you just introduce the concepts, it will give your child an advantage. You also have the Word Work Book and Voyages workbook. Of course READ, READ, READ. These are just examples of what they could do for those days that they are bored.

I wish the children all the very best next year in 3rd Grade.

Have a good summer and may God Bless you and your family always.

Keep praying during the summer.

In the Gospel Reading for Sunday April 19, Jesus appeared to the Apostles . Jesus came and stood among them. He said to them, 'Peace be with you,' Thomas was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples said to him, 'We have seen the Lord,' but he answered, 'Unless I can see the holes that the nails made, and I can put my hand into his side, I refuse to believe.’ Eight days later the disciples were in the house again and Thomas was with them. The doors were closed, but Jesus came in and stood among them. 'Peace be with you,' he said.27 Then he spoke to Thomas, 'Put your finger here; look, here are my hands. Give me your hand; put it into my side. Do not be unbelieving any more but believe.' Thomas replied, 'My Lord and my God!'

Jesus said to him: You believe because you can see me. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe. Parents that would be us. We have not seen Jesus, but we believe. The Resurrection is about Hope. More than ever during these very hard times we need that hope.

This Sunday, the Second Sunday of Easter is Divine Mercy Sunday. Mercy is God’s love and Forgiveness. No matter how many times we fall, God is always there to forgive us as long as we are truly sorry. I taught that lesson to the Second Graders. For them, it’s so easy to understand and accept. So much harder for us as adults. Maybe we can be more like them, and say, “Jesus I Trust in You.”
